Artist Statement:
My current body of work is a series of paintings and collages which explore the process of adding to, subtracting from and dividing up a work of art in order to create another work. The destruction and reconstruction allows for honesty. Nothing that I create can remain precious if it has the potential of being cut up and repurposed or buried under more and more layers of paint and paper. I find that the uncertainty and the chaos of the layering speak to our current social atmosphere as well as my personal state of mind.
