Teen Summer Camp

Artworks Teen Camp is a great way for older students to get a taste of what it takes to be a professional artist. We will pursue multiple, more advanced mediums, such as oil painting, watercolors, and clay.

The week begins with a field trip to a local gallery or museum. The instructor will review different styles, techniques, and history of art. It is a great way to demonstrate the importance of keeping up to date with current and past artists.

The next couple of days we will be explore plein air painting in Bethesda, clay sculpture, and watercolors. Students will be taught basic techniques such as stretching a canvas to advanced techniques used in glazing ceramic pieces.

The week will be complete with a demonstration on portfolio building. We will photograph and document artwork developed throughout the week. Each student will receive a cd of their work.
